Since my last post was kinda down....I thought I would show you what our week looked like this week. A lot of nothing! It was great. We finally caught up with the rest of the technological world - I got a new laptop so I could leave my office when editing and because the store ran an awesome deal - we got a HP tablet too!! Awesome! I don't know what Im going to do with all these fun new toys - but I know I won't be bored during Ella's dance class anymore. I am grateful for the slow week...because I had 2 sessions today, 2 tomorrow, one Monday, one Tuesday and one Thursday - sigh. See why I wanted a new laptop? :)

Crafty!
This year I have totally been getting crafty! Not only are we making our Christmas presents, which I am totally behind on, but I have been making my own photo props! I have really enjoyed this. I blogged before about the chalk boards and soup cans - which were pretty low grade crafty - but I really had a lot of fun with the Christmas props!!
Here are my JOY letters...
I love them! They came out exactly how I imagined! (which by the way as at midnight one night and I couldn't sleep all night) I now have great ideas in my head for future words and numbers and....yes. I might be up again till midnight.
Here are my props on a stick (which are not yet on sticks - but I was so excited!! I guess I will need a follow up picture.)
Made theses too!! This set of props did not come out of an ephaniy int he wee hours of the night - rather I ordered some just like them from a shop and the USPS lost them! I am currently battling them to get restitution. I figured I would never see them again so I decided to make my own. I guess I could have done so to begin with - but this took me about 3 hours. Easier to pay someone else - yes...but I am super pround of my DIY props. So I guess its a win win in the long run. Except for the people at USPS, who still have not heard the end of my complaints.
I still have not finished Ella's dress up thing...so more fun crafty blogs to come. And I would LOVE to blog about Christmas presents - but that would spoil all the fun for the recipients, who are among the 4 people who read my blog. :)

Busy and Thankful
I certain someone told me I needed a blog update....
Things have been busy here in the Trahan house. Fall and Christmas sessions are in full swing - which I am grateful for. School is behind - and yes, my friends, I can hear your voices in my head already. I'm not behind, I'm home schooling. But I feel behind. Work is stressful - I cried every day this week, at least once. I decided today that I need to find some new up lifting verses to memorize when I feel my face getting hot and my eyes welling up. I need some words of hope and strength to make it though the day.
I'm not a big "this is what I'm thankful for" kinda person in the month of November - although I do enjoy reading what others are thankful for daily. However, today I was pretty thankful. I was thankful for the extremely long wait time at Sonic. You see....as I waited and enjoyed the cool air with all the windows down, I placed my head as far back into the back seat as I possibly could without Ella noticing I was almost breaking my neck. She was singing, which she normally does, but I just sat and listened to my wonderful daughter singing praises to God. Takes my breath away. I am thankful for her and the Lord who gave her to me.

Really, Mom?
I don't know why - but I think this is the funniest face my son has ever given me. I was setting up my camera settings for Christmas pictures and using my baby boy as a test subject. He gives me this, okay, really mom? look. Ha!

Fall Picture Time
Today we did the kids fall pictures (as you can see I didn't wait too long to edit!) As many of you know - I despise taking my own kids pictures. You know how your kids act better for someone else than you? Same thing goes for a photographers kids. But - I do see light at the end of the tunnel - Ella has improved greatly which means, hopefully, that Avery will too in time. Nevertheless - I love them! :)
this is typical Avery - and the one most likely of the two to go on the wall :) |

Big Sister talks.
Recent conversation overheard from the office....
Ella: Now Avery, we are going to watch Elf. BUT - Elf is not real. Santa is not real, but Elf is funny. We like to watch it. It's called entertainment.
Avery: Uhhh...okay.
